The paper explores the question of diversity in agricultural practice as related to bio-diversity and landscape appearance. It starts with the observation that, in the past, diverse natural conditions have considerably impacted on adapted modes of agricultural production, more than today, and that previously performed farm practices were strongly affiliated with specific natural conditions. Territory and natural conditions in Macedonia are well known in the World market of high quality production of oriental type of tobacco. Production of oriental tobacco at such a small territory is insignificant towards other producers (Bulgaria, Turkey), buy it is very important for Macedonian economy. The high value of exported tobacco and other tobacco products is regularly above 100 million USD (113 million USD for 2006 and 106 million USD for 2007). The paper deals with a range and a structure of subsidies in agricultural companies reach a different economic level and farm in different natural conditions. The research realized within a set of 109 agricultural companies of NUTS II South-East throughout the years 2001-2003 shows that the endowment support of field economy had the same extent in the main (subsidies for 1 ha of agricultural land and for one worker), both in the group of different economic level and in the group of agricultural companies running their own business in different natural conditions during this period.
